NJIT Update: Fall 2026 Deposit Refund Policy
Official Admissions Notice for International Students
If you are planning to join the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) for the Fall 2026 semester, please be aware of an important update regarding the tuition deposit refund policy for both undergraduate and graduate programs.
To qualify for a refund of the $500 USD confirmation deposit, NJIT now requires evidence of one visa denial. Refund requests will only be processed for students who can demonstrate they attempted the visa process and were unsuccessful.
Required Documentation
You must provide the following three documents to submit a valid refund request:
- 01. Your Visa Denial Letter: The formal rejection document issued by the consulate.
- 02. Visa Appointment History: Confirmation and record history of your scheduled visa interview.
- 03. MRV Fee Receipt: The payment receipt for your Machine Readable Visa (MRV) fee.
Important Note: NJIT will not consider or review any refund request if the documentation listed above is missing. Please ensure you have all digital copies ready before starting your refund application.
