Source: GOV.UK (HM Government Guidance) | Reference: Appendix Graduate

The UK Home Office has formally confirmed the stay durations for the Graduate visa route. The length of time international students can remain in the UK to work after their studies is now determined by their application submission date and qualification level.

Eligibility & Stay Duration:

  • 2 Years: For Bachelor's and Master's applications submitted on or before 31 December 2026.
  • 18 Months: For Bachelor's and Master's applications submitted on or after 1 January 2027.
  • 3 Years: For PhD or other doctoral qualifications (Remains unchanged).

Important Compliance Details

Your visa duration officially begins on the day your application is approved. It is important to note that the Graduate visa is a one-time grant and cannot be extended.

Students seeking to remain in the UK beyond this period must switch to a different visa category, such as the Skilled Worker visa, provided they meet the specific sponsorship and salary requirements before their Graduate visa expires.
