    • They do not directly modify the noun but rather provide information about the subject's state, condition, or quality.
    • Predicative adjectives are often used to complement the subject and complete the meaning of the sentence.

    Examples:

    • The car is red. (The adjective "red" describes the subject "car" after the linking verb "is.")
    • The cake smells delicious. (The adjective "delicious" describes the subject "cake" after the linking verb "smells.")
