How long is the Graduate (PSW) visa valid for?
Important Update:

For applications submitted on or before 31 December 2026, Bachelor’s and Master’s graduates can stay for 2 years.

However, from 1 January 2027, this will be reduced to 18 months for non-PhD graduates. PhD graduates remain eligible for 3 years.

Has the English Language requirement changed?
Answer: While many students still require B1 or B2 level depending on the university, 2026 rules have increased the requirement to Level B2 for those switching to the Skilled Worker or HPI (High Potential Individual) routes. It is recommended to aim for higher IELTS/PTE scores to remain eligible for future work sponsorship.
Can I still bring my spouse or children?
Answer: Since January 2024, only students on Postgraduate Research programs (PhD or Research-based Masters) or those on government-sponsored courses can bring dependents. Students on standard taught Masters courses are no longer eligible to bring family members.
What happened to physical BRP cards?
Answer: The UK has fully transitioned to a digital-first system (eVisa). Most students no longer receive physical BRP cards. Your visa status is now checked online using a "share code" through your UKVI account.
