Next Stop: The CAS Letter.

Securing your seat is just the beginning. The UK visa process is highly technical, revolving around strict financial rules and the critical "CAS" number. Here is your step-by-step roadmap.

Step 1: The Pre-CAS Compliance

Unlike other countries, the university does not issue your visa document immediately after payment. You must pass their internal "Pre-CAS Checks" first. This often involves:

  • Draft CAS Verification: Checking your personal details on a draft document.
  • Pre-CAS Interview: A short video interview with the university to check your "Genuine Student" intent.
  • Financial Proofs: Showing the university your bank statements before applying for the visa.

Step 2: The "28-Day Rule" (Crucial)

⚠️ This is where most students fail.

To get your visa, you must show you have the Remaining Tuition Fees + Living Expenses (approx £9,207 for outside London or £12,006 for London) in a bank account for 28 consecutive days.

The balance must not drop below the required amount for even a single day.

Step 3: The Medical Check (TB Test)

If you are staying in the UK for more than 6 months (which you are), you need a Tuberculosis (TB) clearance certificate.

Important Note:

You cannot go to just any doctor. You must book an appointment with a UKVI Approved Clinic only. The certificate is valid for 6 months.

Step 4: Issuance of CAS

Once the university is satisfied with your Pre-CAS Interview and Financial Documents, they will issue the CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies).

  • It is not a paper letter: It is a unique reference number (e.g., E4G7XXXXX) that links your passport to the UKVI system.
  • Validity: You must apply for your visa within 6 months of receiving your CAS.

Step 5: Visa Application & IHS

With your CAS Number + TB Certificate + Bank Statement, we file the visa.

Visa Fee

Approx £490 (Standard Service). Processing time is usually 15 working days.

IHS Fee (Health Surcharge)

This fee (approx £776/year) gives you access to the NHS (National Health Service) for free doctor visits and hospital care.

Need to calculate your funds?

The 28-day rule calculation can be tricky. Send us your latest bank statement, and we will verify if it meets UKVI compliance standards before you print it.
