IELTS Classroom Rules, Expectations, and Practice Guide
Status: Enrolled & Ready
Welcome to Your IELTS Training.
Let's Get That Band 8.
Congratulations on registering! You have taken the first concrete step toward your study abroad dream. This guide explains how our classes work, what we expect from you, and how to maximize your score.
⚠️ The Reality Check
IELTS is not a test of intelligence; it is a test of technique. You cannot "cram" for it the night before. Consistency is the only magic trick. If you attend classes but don't practice at home, your score will not improve.
How Our Training Works: The 4 Modules
🎧 Listening (30 Mins)
Our Goal: Train your ear to catch accents (British/Australian) and multitask (listen + read + write simultaneously).
Tip: Watch BBC News or TED Talks daily without subtitles.
📖 Reading (60 Mins)
Our Goal: Speed. We teach you "Skimming" and "Scanning" techniques so you don't waste time reading every single word.
Tip: Read one lengthy editorial (The Hindu/The Guardian) every morning.
✍️ Writing (60 Mins)
Our Goal: Structure. We provide standard templates for Task 1 (Graph/Letter) and Task 2 (Essay) to ensure logical flow.
Tip: Never deviate from the word limit. Under-length = Penalty.
🗣️ Speaking (11-14 Mins)
Our Goal: Fluency over Vocabulary. We conduct 1-on-1 mock interviews to remove hesitation and "umm/ahh" fillers.
Tip: Record yourself speaking on a topic for 2 minutes daily.
- ✔ Stationery: Pencils (HB), Eraser, and a Sharpener. (Listening/Reading must be done in pencil).
- ✔ Notebook: A dedicated notebook for "New Vocabulary." Write 5 new words every day.
- ✔ Headphones: For personal listening practice in the lab.
The Mock Test Schedule
We simulate the real exam environment every Saturday. These are not optional.
| Test Type | Frequency | Purpose |
|---|
| Sectional Tests | Daily | Focus on one skill (e.g., Reading only). |
| Full Mock Test | Weekly (Saturday) | 3-hour simulation to build stamina. |
Attendance & House Rules
- Be on Time: If you miss the start of the Listening audio, you cannot join the session.
- English Only Zone: Inside the classroom, speak only in English. Even with your friends. This is the fastest way to improve.
- Homework: Writing tasks given on Monday must be submitted by Tuesday for correction.
Action Item: Collect Your Material
Please visit the front desk to collect your "Smile IELTS Welcome Kit" (Books + Access Code for Online Portal) if you haven't already.
