Walking Into the PSK: What Really Happens Inside?

A complete walkthrough of your Passport Seva Kendra appointment, from entry to exit.

Visiting a government office can feel intimidating. The Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) is actually very modern and streamlined, but it can still be confusing if you don't know the layout.

At Smile Foreign Education, we want you to walk in feeling prepared. Here is exactly what happens once you step through those doors.

✅ The "Must-Haves" Before Entry

  • Arrive Early: Reach the venue 15 minutes before your slot. Do not go too early (they won't let you in) or late (you might miss it).
  • Documents: Carry your Appointment SMS/Printout and Original Documents (Aadhar, Pan, Marksheet, etc.) plus one set of self-attested photocopies.
  • Dress Code: Wear smart casuals. Avoid sleeveless shirts or anything too informal, as your photo will be taken here.

The Core Process: A, B, and C

Once inside, you will pass security, get a Token Number (e.g., N-102), and wait in the lounge. You will then visit three specific counters in order:

A

Counter A: The Data Stage

Who is here? TCS Staff (Private employees).
What happens? This is the longest step. They will scan your original documents, upload them to the system, take your fingerprints (biometrics), and click your passport photo.
Tip: Check the computer screen carefully! Ensure your name and parent's names are spelled correctly before you sign.

B

Counter B: The Verification Stage

Who is here? Government Officials.
What happens? The officer will verify the original documents against what was scanned at Counter A. They may ask simple questions like "What is your profession?" or "Where were you born?".

C

Counter C: The Granting Stage

Who is here? Senior Granting Officer.
What happens? This is usually very quick (1-2 minutes). The officer makes the final decision to "Grant" your passport. Once they say okay, you are done!

🚪 The Exit Gate

After Counter C, do not just walk out! Look for the Exit/Acknowledgement Counter. Hand over your file/token, and they will give you a printed Acknowledgement Letter.

Keep this paper safe. It contains your File Number, which you will need to track your status.

⚠️ Important Note on "Pending" Status

If Counter B or C asks for an additional document you don't have, don't panic. They will likely mark your file as "On Hold." You simply need to re-visit with that specific document. Call us immediately if this happens.

Have Questions Before You Go?

We have filled your form, but if you are confused about your documents or the process, give us a call before your appointment.
